Update a charming Victorian home with modern conveniences while preserving its character and timeless beauty. The goal was to seamlessly blend new custom woodwork with the original craftsmanship and create functional, family-friendly spaces—especially a kitchen perfect for mom-and-daughter baking sessions.
the challenge
While full of original character, parts of the home felt outdated and lacked the elegance expected of a Victorian. The kitchen was the biggest challenge—basic, ill-fitting cabinetry and tricky window and door placements made it difficult to create the desired layout and functionality.

design concept
The design concept focused on a light, airy update that complements the home’s historic charm. We chose soft white finishes and custom cabinetry with beautiful wood details to echo the original woodwork.
A major change was relocating the patio door, giving us an entire additional wall to work with—dramatically improving kitchen functionality and overall flow.
The design balances old and new, giving the home fresh energy while honoring its traditional roots.

The renovated spaces now feel bright, functional, and true to the home’s character. The kitchen has become the heart of the home, with plenty of workspace for baking and family time.
Every detail ties together, making the inside feel as timeless and beautiful as the Victorian exterior.
